Farnham School Library
Policies and Procedures
Students will be visiting the Farnham Library every week to listen to a story and check out books. The following are our library policies.
- Kindergarten and 1st grade students may check out one book that will remain in their classroom.
- 2nd – 5th grade students may check out two books.
- Books are due back the following week, or may be renewed for an additional week as long as no one has requested the title. Students may renew books up to two times, however the book must be returned to the library to be renewed. Books must be returned in order to check out more items.
- Overdue notices are sent home periodically. While there is no fine for overdue books, if a book is lost or damaged it must be paid for. Students who owe money to the library will lose the privilege of borrowing more materials. If books are not returned or paid for, report cards may be held in the office with the possibility of restrictions to extra-curricular activities (i.e. Golfland). The replacement cost of the book is quoted on the overdue notice.
Please help your child find a safe place to keep library books at home. Books need to be kept out of reach of pets, younger siblings, food, or other hazards. Remind your child to return his/her library books on time so that new ones may be checked out!
Happy reading!
